Ice Cream: A Quick Post – Cajamarca, Peru
There simply has not been enough coverage on dessert! The truth is we have eaten a lot of pretty ordinary desserts like cookies (Oreos and Chips Ahoy included, as well as local pan) and nothing-to-get-excited-about cakes. Finally in Cajamarca we came across a surprisingly addictive dessert. The simple ice cream cone. Unlike other ice creams we’ve had in South America, this one is smooth and creamy (not icy or thin like “ice milk”). What really seals the deal is that they dip it in a thick layer of cone coating…think: chocolate Magic Shell. Mmmmmmm! Really it’s the high proportion of chwocolate coating to creamy ice cream that had us going back for more. Yes, it was in a mall and we don’t regret that one bit! Thank you, D’Onofrio.
looks good to me
Ohh, it was!
Did you say A MALL? Now u r talking my language…….
Hah! 🙂 We’ve been to a couple of malls now – Cajamarca, Puno – they’ve been a nice treat! When you do your RTW trip, it can be entitled “Malls Around The World!” I want to hear about some of the amazing ones in Dubai…
Yum!
You definitely will have to go back there – with me in tow. Such a great place!
We’d love to! Or we should be starting up our annual Ice Cream Social again in 2016. 🙂
