We’re in the somewhat agonizing, but wonderfully liberating, stage of crazily packing for the trip. With the help of a bunch of our friends and my mom (thank you, thank you, thank you!!!), most of our possessions are either now in boxes or storage. Still more to go, but the house sure does look bigger now! How DID we accumulate so much stuff???
It’s actually been great to go through things (so many memories in a filing cabinet filled with papers and notes and photos) and to clear out a lot we just don’t need anymore. The recycling, trash and Craigslist have done wonders for us! Still lots we’re hoping to sell, including some of the big things like our couch and bed, but Anner’s organizing the schedule has put us nicely in line for a slightly less stressful final two weeks. In fact, I’m hoping that we’ll actually have enough time to do a bunch of posts the final week (no promises, though)! We haven’t even left yet, and there’s so many posts we want to write, in particular answering some of the questions we most commonly get asked:
Where’s your first place to go and, umm, why are you going at all?
What the heck do you bring for an entire year?
How do you save enough for a trip like that?
What about your jobs?
Let us know what questions you have for us and we’ll do our best to answer them all!
