So much excitement in this house right now as we prepare for our next big(ish) trip: returning to Africa! SO. EXCITED!
In about a month we return to the wonderful people, mind-blowing numbers of animals, and gorgeous, gorgeous fabrics of Tanzania! Only six weeks this time, rather than the 15 months of our Big Trip, but it’s going to be glorious! Before our safari ever finished last time, we both knew it wasn’t enough. Right then and there we pinky swore: We’ll return…and we’re bringing friends next time. We had barely gotten home, still unemployed and not sure how it would come together, when we put money down on our next safari. That was three years ago. Now, the big day is almost here! And, yes, we ARE bringing friends!
As part of our prep we’re gathering up our gear and getting our malaria pills. I decided I should check our gear blogs to see what we took last time and imagine my surprise when I saw all the gear blogs in the ‘drafts’ folder! Oh oh. Ahem, apparently a few posts never got published. So, under the banner of ‘better late than never,‘ we will publish those lost gear posts over the next few days. You’ll notice that there’s no gear post for Aaron’s gear and that’s because it was barely started. Basically, he took the boy-version of everything Anner took, though he chose wool over polypro.
As for Tanzania, we plan to blog and post on Facebook and Instagram, just like last time. Hope you will join us on a new adventure!
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to start packing. <squeeeal!>
It looks increasingly less likely that I will not make the trip. Weep, throw things, but it might still work. Cross your fingers, toes and eyes for me. I do so want to do Tanzania with you two again.
Oops. Double negative above not intended. I meant to say that I probably won’t make the trip.
Fun and exciting! I wish I had money to go! Even so, I couldn’t because we head to Alaska on 22 April. Have you ever brought Aaron to AK? Enjoy your adventure! !
I think we went to AK our first winter together. Perhaps we should try summer or Denali Christmas! Have a great season, Scott.
My invite to Tanzania must have gotten lost in the mail. 😉 I’ll have to live vicariously for now!! Have a blast!!
Bummer Amanda! We’d love for you to join us! Stay tuned, the adventure begins soon.
