Why No Blog Posts???

Some folks out there…or at least our moms, might be asking, “Why no blogs lately? They used to be so reliable…” Well, over the past month we have had rather dismal internet access. The fact that we’ve enjoyed omni-present wi-fi virtually everywhere else we’ve traveled has really spoiled us. Well, South Africa brought us down to earth. Our housesitting clients summed it up best when they said that South Africa looks like a modern country (and it does!), but really it’s a developing country and you have to give it some slack. Yep, definitely part of Brian’s 70% rule for Africa coming into play here!

What gives? Why no blogs??

What gives? Why no blogs??

We have missed the process of writing, editing, posting and best of all, getting your feedback! Seriously, we get such a thrill when folks comment on our blogs. *Love It* This last month has made us realize just how much we enjoy blogging and let me just say we miss it terribly. We do try to post a daily photo or two to Facebook and Instagram even when we can’t blog, but it’s just not the same.

In 2 days we leave for Mongolia and we’re guaranteed to not have blogging capabilities there! Perhaps some amount of wi-fi for our first couple days in Ulan Bataar, but not for two weeks after that. Oh my gosh, I can hardly believe we are going to Mongolia. (MONGOLIA!!) Then we’re off to Bali — can I get a “Woot! Woot!” — where we may/may not have wi-fi.

***Yes, that’s right, we made a snap decision last week and booked ourselves a trip to Indonesian sun and snorkeling to help us recover from our aching, horse-riding bums! Bring on the beaches, crystal clear water and seeing coral three times a day for 9 days! Oooh-la-la! ***

WARNING: Blog Shortage Alert!

WARNING: Blog Shortage Alert!

Then, finally, in late September, we should be back online for most of the rest of our trip. Soooooo….I guess the whole point of this is to let everyone know we’re still here! Plus, we want to warn everyone that Radio Silence will be in effect for yet another month or so. Don’t worry…we’ll be back! For now? Gotta learn how to ride a horse!!

We'll be right back!

We promise to return!! Stay tuned!

Omg. Radio silence for a month. I definitely need to get a bottle of Patron to get me thru the bff withdraw. And a hellyaWOOTWOOT for Bali snorkeling trip. Your bum is really really really gonna need to park it in some toasty warm sandy beach after your done w those ponies. Lol Love you both and sending the friendly wildlife some good karma to show up on your adventures.

Now don’t go doing something crazy while I’m offline! You got this. You can do it! And stop talking about my bum. You’ll want to stay in top condition because when we return I plan to rate the snorkeling on a Marshall Island scale, where Roi is a 10.

This is why we give out the warnings. We’re like the State Department that way. 🙂 We’ll try to get one more out before we leave…

I don’t think I can stand it! No posts? Just remember I want a photo and description of how you feel after that first day on a horse. At least their horses are smaller than ours. That may help. Friends over here today who are headed to South Africa, Zambia, and Victoria Falls in 3 weeks. My feet already itch. Have fun out in the wilds of where ever you are. Hugs to both of you.

The only thing better than Mongolian horses and Balinese coral would be birthday doings in Amsterdam! Bring it on! Oh, and I had oysters at lunch today and thought of you.

Have an amazing time in Asia! I cannot wait to read about it in the future. Enjoy being offline and untethered 😉 I’m glad you have found a couple house sitting gigs along the way, I want to try that on my next big adventure.

Housesitting is totally the way to go for long-term travel. If you decide to try it, let us know and we can help get you a discount on the membership and give you our lessons learned. It’s really fun and it’s a great way to get immersed in a community, which I know you love.

      Untethering begins in T-36 hours.
